Yes but right livelihood is not just about going green. I listened to an NPR program on Friday, 2/22/08 that was about a company that sets up a booth in New Yorks Central Station where two people, often relatives, plus a facilitator meet for 40 minutes and tape the story of their lives. One NYC bus driver told the story of an 80 year old commuter he picked up that could not find a restaurant at wehich she had planned a rendevous with friends. After the driver perused up and down the busy New York Streets, pulled a u-turn to convenience her, holding her hand and escorting her out, the woman was overwhelmed with gratitude. She told the kind hearted driver that she had been diagnosed with cancer and that this was the best day of her life. This is an example of how service and compassion (or any similar random act of kindness) can be as much a part of right livelihood as going green.
